Our Makers
Indilisi works with Fair Trade groups and social enterprises in India, Bangladesh and Kenya.
We are passionate about the power of craft and promoting heritage weaving and textile techniques in rural areas. Whilst women in these areas are traditionally marginalised, we are passionate about empowering them to support these crafts and improve their economic independence.
We prioritise working with partners that share our values and have a strong grounding in equality, community welfare, craft-based livelihoods, fair trade and organic practices.

Our Organic Clothing
We work with Swallows and other social enterprises in Bangladesh who craft our beautiful, handwoven first clothing collection. Their skilled artisans turn certified organic cotton yarn into timeless, and breathable pieces by hand weaving, hand tailoring and hand embroidering in rural areas.
Swallows provide fair prices and work opportunities: “We run development programs through our NGO to promote literacy, education, health and women’s rights awareness” says Santo Haque, the Handicrafts Manager. “Products are all made by hand using organic cotton, and artisans are well-trained in a range of traditional skills like handweaving, appliqué work, embroidery and tailoring".

Thanapara Swallows Development Society (TSDS) is an active member of the World Fair Trade Organisation and a Fair Trade Guaranteed social enterprise. The benefits of this include fair wages, a women-friendly workplace, supporting a school, transparency and accountability, promoting the avoidance of child labour, human trafficking and domestic violence.

Organic Surplus Fabrics
The majority (90%) of our surplus fabrics are made with certified organic and Fairtrade cotton which has been grown by smallholder farmers at Chetna Organic, India.
This supports tribal smallholder farmers in rural and remote villages. Chetna Organic is a farmer owned organisation that promotes the use of non-genetically modified seed as per organic and Fairtrade standards. Their cotton is primarily rainfed, and rotated and interspersed with other food crops for local consumption and soil management.
Indilisi works with Dibella India, a pioneer in textile and clothing production who work closely with Chetna Organic and produce fabric organises using 70% renewable energy throughout all processes including ginning, spinning, weaving and dying.
They also integrate best practice in water conservation, water-use, cleaning and recycling waste-water back into the system.
The fabrics are imported by sea freight.
They are available in various textures and finishes, all made with care and a commitment to reducing waste.

Our Fair Trade Jewellery
Indilisi is proud to partner with Bombolulu Workshops, a WFTO fair trade social enterprise in Mombasa, Kenya, that empowers people living with disabilities through the art of jewellery making and other handicrafts. Founded in 1969, Bombolulu provides dignified employment to over 80 male and female artisans in a fully accessible environment. The organisation’s mission is to rehabilitate and economically empower people with disabilities, enabling them to live independently and become active members of their communities.

Each piece of jewellery is lovingly handcrafted using locally sourced materials, such as brass, and silver plate. All metals used are nickel, lead, and cadmium-free. From intricate links to hammered forms, every detail is made by hand – a true celebration of craftsmanship, care, and skill.
With decades of experience and a commitment to high standards, Bombolulu creates beautiful, original jewellery for local and global markets, combining timeless techniques with a deeply human story. As a member of the World Fair Trade Organisation (WFTO), Bombolulu reflects Indilisi’s values – honouring heritage craft, fair wages, and social justice.
Looking Ahead
As Indilisi continues to grow, we remain deeply committed to sourcing low-impact materials, handcrafted fashion that supports regenerative practices, empowers communities, and helps create a just transition for people in supply chains.
We love that you are here on this journey with us, and we are excited to show you more.
