Indilisi - Making a Show of it!

Indilisi - Making a Show of it!

Vilnius is a rare gem! I’d been asked initially to do a talk to design students at Vilnius College of Design, Vilnius is the capital of Lithuania. The guide books will tell you that it is the “G” spot of Europe, a hidden treasure of pleasure and there is something in that - it is incredibly beautiful, calm and friendly for a city the size of Amsterdam.

(For the things that I loved about Vilnius, watch out for next cultural post)

Then, after a few online meetings with the dynamic Sandra Maneikyte, International Partnership project manager, she proposed that we move my talk to be part of LOGIN 2026, a business innovation conference that brings together 8,000 people from across the Baltics each year. Why not? I thought that the students would be able to join it there too! It didn’t take long before we were collaborating like old friends, sharing our creative ideas for my visit: what about we do an Indilisi fashion show at LOGIN 2026? "That’s perfect, let’s see if they are up for it!”.

Within 48 hours, it was agreed that the first fashion show ever held at the conference would be held on their 20th anniversary. Sandra took on the role of organising models, hair & make-up, AV, and printing the message boards bearing the issues that we feel most passionate about. Happily, my partner, Marcus, came along too for a holiday - and carried the Indilisi collection with him. Sanna Leino, a friend and Scandinavian agent, came along too from Helsinki, and we were quite a family of sustainable fashion people.

I was delighted to do a keynote to 1,000 people, and after the show, a fireside chat with Bernard Garby, a fashion expert based in London.

He talked about the importance of luxury brands building community rather than hoping fashion influencers to make the difference, people are increasingly sceptical and looking for real authenticity, transparency and truth from brands.

"Having Safia at LOGIN as a keynote speaker representing Vilnius College of Design was truly one of the highlights of the conference.

She spoke about sustainability, brought her collection to Lithuania, and presented the first fashion show of its kind in the 20-year history of LOGIN. She also took part in an insightful and engaging conversation with Bernard Getsy, sharing ideas that encouraged the audience to think more deeply about fashion, responsibility, and conscious consumption.

What impressed us most was not only Safia’s expertise but also her personality. Her courage, authenticity, thoughtful insights, and natural warmth captivated everyone around her — from the organisers and models to the audience and our partners." - Sandra Maneikyte, International Partnership project manager.
